Autonomous Work Groups

What is an Autonomous Work Group?

An autonomous work group is a group of employees who give independence or autonomy to the work they do in an organization. Members within this group have the independent right to delegate a specific task. This autonomy also has the ability to make independent decisions about a specific task, project or occupation (kokeluller, 2020).

·     The Global Context of an Autonomous Groups.

With the current global economic system, autonomous groups have been used extensively for the well-being of global organizations. Their emergence from socio technological systems theory and field experiments is discussed and their theoretical foundations and implementation strategies are presented. Autonomous work groups are a good alternative to traditional work plans.

The company I work for also makes a lot of use of autonomous teams and gets the most productive product and service out of it as well.

Conclusion

In my opinion, autonomous work groups are very much needed by organizations today and they can increase the productivity of the service they provide. To put it another way, a team needs several people and they have different ideas. It creates diversity in the workforce of the group and allows them to look at different issues from different angles and make decisions. Eventually autonomous groups can expect effective action as well.
