Japanese vs American Management Styles
What is Japanese Management Style.
The
Japanese management style is a management concept of Dr. William Ovichi to
revive the economic downturn in Asia in the 1980s. It focused on increasing
employee loyalty to the company by providing employment for life, with a strong
focus on employee well-being both outside and outside of work. His system also
tends to promote stable employment, higher productivity and higher employee
morale and satisfaction

is one of the most advanced countries in the world and leader in modern
management methods as well. Many people in America live their lives freely
without any social trials and barriers and its economy is a free economy. They
want to live an independent life and are accustomed to the ‘hire and fire’
style of management. Contract-based employment began in the United States and

Good 1..informative
ReplyDeleteThank you Shiyam.
DeleteGood analysis between the two management styles and good referencing as well. Suggest to elaborate a bit more about the applicability and benefits we can gain by using the suitable approach.
ReplyDeleteGood work.
Thank you Lakshan.
DeletePlease follow the Harvard reference and citation style.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you cited should appear in the reference list and whatever appear in the reference list should be cited in the main body of the text.
Please consider following points.
The blog article should importantly have three parts.
i) Introduction to the topic
ii) Global context of the topic. (How it has been practiced globally, why they practice it and the benefits of practicing the selected HR concept.)
iii) Application of the selected topic to the selected company. (Why they have to apply, how they would apply, expected benefits etc.
And finally, a brief conclusion.
Thank you sir.
DeleteWe can see, most of the time, American Management style's labor turnover is high. They can choose one employer today, if it is not suits for him, he can find another. It is noted that, Japanese management style mainly focused on long lasting goals /benefits by their employee satisfaction
ReplyDeleteThank you
Deletemotivation will be effect for management styles growing
ReplyDeleteVery well explained about the 2 management styles. Any how management should look after their employees well. Management approach towards the employee is more important
ReplyDeleteWe can see most of the time, that the labor turnover of the American management style is strong. Today, they can pick one employer, and if it doesn't suit him, he can find another. It is noted that Japanese management style primarily focused on long-term goals/benefits by pleasing their employees. also you better use correct citation as well. Other than that, you have clearly explained two management styles in a very clear manner.
ReplyDeleteBetter illustration of Japanese ve American management style . Reader can easily identify the which management style should be choosen according to organization structure ..
ReplyDeleteIn the context of Sri Lanka and the employee behaviors, there should be a mix of both system. Whilst having a more established system which has long term objectives, space should be allowed for the other way around too. The background of the people should be taken into serious consideration.
ReplyDeleteWhile appreciating the effort made on comparison made between two international theories I strongly believe you as a member of Sri lankan origin company and we as people of a country with long history need to find at least one our own method to international level in respect of the HR or People concerns.
ReplyDeleteProperly described on the two management styles with appropriate theories. Nice article.
ReplyDeleteInteresting article. the topic is important to realize where we are? As a Sri Lankan organization, what should we do? Japanese organization Is focusing on employee loyalty. American organisation Is following " hiring and firing" style. However, Japanese concepts are well accepted all over the world. eg - lean manufacturing. as per my views, the Japanese method is more beneficial for employees.
ReplyDeleteAs per the article, Japanese Management style is more attractive & gives more outcome rather than American style. Well explained.
